A week ago, I wrote “Culinary Diversity in My Midlife Kitchen,” a post that celebrates the diversity within my own kitchen: the mélange of soul food from my heritage and the Dutch food of my husband’s lineage. That got me thinking: How many others out there bring a sense of collaboration into their kitchen with different cultures? That further led me to think about something else: I can share a bit of both sides of my kitchen for others to enjoy. The end result: A Cultural Culinary Cookbook Bundle Giveaway!
To honor the dining cultures of both me and my husband, one lucky winner will receive two (2) cookbooks that celebrate my kitchen’s culture.
The Cultural Culinary Cookbook Bundle books:
In Maya Angelou’s, “Hallelujah! The Welcome Table,” the esteemed poet and author weaves together stories from her childhood with mouthwatering recipes. Chicken and Dumplings, Fried Meat Pies and Banana Pudding are just a few of the feasts she serves up in this tasty collection.
Dutch Cooking Today is filled with a multitude of typical Dutch fare—from poffertjes (tiny cheese pancakes with herb butter) to bitterballen (bite-size croquettes) to beef rolls stuffed with mince, bacon and gherkins.
These two wonderful collections of recipes reveal the types of meals that my husband and I enjoy in our own kitchen, and now one winner can get a taste of it as well. The contest ends Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 12:00 a.m. See official rules below. Good luck and enter today!

What a fun giveaway! Favorite things to cook have to be any fresh veggie type of dish and desserts. Desserts are always a winner even if they aren’t as healthy for me..
Valerie Albarda says
Eat your veggies! 🙂 And you get a pass on desserts; homemade desserts always get a pass!

I love this giveaway! I really want that Maya Angelou cookbook and the Dutch one looks interesting as well! My husband is Irish and I am Native American/German so I try to incorporate those into my cooking. Funny though, what I really love is Italian Cooking! Go Figure!
Valerie Albarda says
Oh Rena, I love Italian food, too! It’s not regional cooking, but your garden variety that I prepare. Still good, though… Good luck in the giveaway!
