From January 31 through February 6, I will be attending the Loreto Bay 7-Day Writing Retreat, led by the talented Tammy L. Coia of TLC Writing Retreats for Women. This retreat will be the perfect opportunity to empower women in midlife.

During the retreat, I will be conducting a brand new 90-minute workshop titled, “Empowering Women in Midlife…and Beyond.” The session is designed to uplift and encourage women of midlife and hammer home the point that we don’t have to succumb to the pervasive myths associated with midlife.

The Empowering Women in Midlife…and Beyond workshop will:

• discuss the origins of the phrase “midlife crisis”
• debunk some of the myths of midlife
• emphasizing the importance of “gogoisms” in our lives
• encourage women to embrace midlife
• reinforce the many reasons why midlife rocks!

The Loreto Bay 7-Day Writing Retreat—held in beautiful Loreto, Mexico—includes 20 hours of writing workshops, lunch, dinner and more. From the TLC website:

Loreto is a private and remote location far from the crowds of tourists and far from our daily routines, out of touch but not out of reach. One solid week of relaxation, self reflection and writing our hearts out. Designed for women who like to write or looking to find their voice in order to tell their story. Everyone has a story to tell. Seven days of instruction cradling you toward your goals. Each day we’ll gather at about 9am and enjoy more than 3 hours of workshops. It’s a short walk to lunch at one of the delicious cafe’s in town then back to writing for a couple of hours. Early evening we’ll meet at the wine bar for a drink and a group discussion on our individual projects or writings. Come to the rooftop for our evening writes or discussions. Located within the Loreto National Marine Park, and far away from tourist congestion, our beautiful seaside villas are surrounded by the rich culture and history of Mexico. The colorful stucco homes reflect the vibrancy and traditions of Mexico, with tranquil garden courtyards, terra cotta roofs, and hand-painted tile detailing. They offer everything needed for a perfectly relaxing writing retreat- from the king size beds and grand soaking tubs to the fully equipped kitchens and sun deck barbecues. We will be staying a short 2 minute walk to the beach on the Sea of Cortez.
