In this day and age, who doesn’t want to be healthy? Our bodies depend on the right nutrients to function properly. While we try to eat sensibly, we may not be getting all of the nutrients and vitamins our aging bodies need. We can eat more fruits and vegetables and whole foods, but for some people that’s easier said than done. What’s a midlife woman to do? Multivitamins to the rescue.
When we hear ‘multivitamins,’ “horse-pills” usually come to mind. Dutifully, every morning we gulp down gigantic, hard to swallow supplements, but secretly we’re wishing there was a better way.
There is. Tespo Connect Vitamin Dispenser.
I had an opportunity to try the Tespo Connect system and here are my thoughts.
The Tespo Connect Way
The Tespo Connect dispenser is a wifi-enabled unit that doles out individual servings of vitamins. What makes it different is that the vitamins are in liquid form . . . but that’s only half the story.
The vitamin pods are large circular discs that contain 31 powder servings. The dispenser mixes powder and water to create the vitamin shot. And, like pill-form vitamins, the pods come in a variety of specialty and multivitamin formulas, including Women’s Complete, Energy, Sleep and eight other pre-made pods.
I liked the fact that pods can be personalized to a person’s unique needs as well. That’s the route I went. I took a quick quiz with questions about my energy level, joint health, eye performance, etc. One of the components I added to my formula was specifically designed for women experiencing menopause-related symptoms. Yahoo!
At the end of the quiz, my personalized formula was created. I was excited to try my new vitamin shots!
The dispenser is easy to operate. First, I downloaded the Tespo App (which helps keep track of servings and progress, and set reminders), plugged the unit in, filled the reservoir with water, popped the pod in the unit, put the special cup on the magnetic platform, then pressed the start button. About 45 seconds (and a lot of knocking, pinging and shaking) later, my vitamins were ready to drink. Bottoms up!
PROS
- It delivers fresh liquid vitamins that are easy to absorb.
- It’s great for people who have difficulty taking pills.
- The sleek design suits the kitchen décor.
- The storage tank in the side of the unit holds three additional pods for other family members.
- Vitamin pods contain no sugar, GMO or additives.
- The orange flavor wasn’t offensive.
CONS
- It takes about 1 minute 10 seconds from the time you press the dispense button to the time the vitamin shot serving is mixed (not super long, but when you compare with the time it takes to take a pill with a glass of water…)
- Sometimes the powder and water don’t mix well.
- It’s not the quietest appliance in the kitchen.
- Could be cost prohibitive for some.
The dispenser costs $149.00, but you’ll receive a $50 credit when you connect it to WiFi. The pods start at $22 a month (Tespo works on a monthly subscription basis) and upwards of $45+ a month. Personalized pods can be even pricier, which may be a turn-off to some, especially when compared to pill vitamins.
The Verdict:
The Tespo vitamin system may not be for everyone. There are things to really love about it, as well as things that I could do without. However, for me, the pros outweigh the cons. It’s a sleek, revolutionary machine (and it looks great in my kitchen!), and I love that I get to drink my vitamins.

My daughter needs this! She has the hardest time getting my grandson to swallow pills when he has to take medicine.

She should check it out, Rena. There’s a kids pod, too! Thanks for kicking off the conversation.

This is an interesting way to take vitamins. I would have to try before I buy.

It would be great if you could try it first. I thinks it’s a great way to get your vitamins; I like that liquids are absorbed.
