Midlife—whether you’re in your 40s, 50s or 60s—it’s a wonderful time to be a woman. No longer do we have to beat ourselves up (or down) and feel as if life as we know it is over. With age comes wisdom, and many midlife women could teach a thing or two to the younger generation. Midlife women are knocking down the old stereotypes and showing the world we’re more than just a ‘woman of a certain age.’ We are midlife.

Sleep is a vital part of our lives, but sometimes we take the importance of sleep for granted. As midlife women, our bodies need sleep now more than ever to help us function properly. How much is enough? What affects our sleep? What happens when we’re sleep deprived?
Krista Cumming is a sleep expert who helps tired, sleep-deprived midlife women get the sleep they desperately want and need. As she joins me on this episode, we delve into all things sleep. Krista will be sharing tips to help us not only get a good night’s sleep, but to wake up and go get ’em as well (did you that something as simple as opening your blinds first thing in the morning to let the light in boosts the energy-providing cortisol?)!

I have so many sleep issues. All my female friends who are post 50 have issues with insomnia too. I do try meditation each night and listen to relaxing music. I find it helps, especially when I wake up in the middle of the night and can’t fall back to sleep.
Valerie Albarda says
Not being able to fall off the sleep is no only disruptive, but it’s also frustrating. Sorry you’re having sleep issues, Judy, but glad to hear meditation and relaxing music helps.
