Sometimes I’m afraid. Not always . . . just every once in a while. My fear isn’t rooted in movie monsters, fear of being kidnapped or anything like that. My fear creeps up when I have something to do and my confidence is broken.
Fear of public speaking. Fear of approaching new people. Fear of being judged. Fear of being rejected. Fear of failure.
These are the kinds of things that can hold us back in life. Yeah, my knees may shake and my heart may pump a little faster and a sheen of sweat may break out on my forehead, but I can’t allow that fear to override the possibility of a positive outcome. I have to tell myself to manage the fear; don’t let the fear manage me. I refuse to allow fear to paralyze me and rob me of something good.

I feel a lot of fear, but keep moving forward anyway. There really is no other choice. Thanks for this.

Fear can be paralyzing, Barbara, but when we put our big girl panties on and work our way through it, it makes us stronger! Thanks for kicking off the conversation.

So true! I try to push out of my comfort zone into the fear space – it’s where growth occurs.
Valerie Albarda says
Yes Karen! You took the words right out of my mouth. When we do what makes us uncomfortable, we begin to grow and conquer! Thanks for joining the conversation.
