Sometimes I daydream. Like many people, I dream of winning the lottery. Fat chance, right? But that doesn’t mean something wonderful isn’t just around the corner for me. It’s easy to be grateful for the really big things that happen in life, but I try to appreciate all the little blessings that come my way, too — the things that I may not immediately recognize as extraordinary.
When you’re grateful for the little things, you begin to see that wonderful things happen all around us. The person who held the door open for you. The five dollar bill you found in the elevator. The conversation that made you smile. These are all wonderful. And they happen all the time. Think it, say it, believe it. Then, sit back and watch your day get better.
Oh wait . . . looks like something wonderful is about to happen again.
Beth Havey says
This is a great way to live your life. I’ve been a little STUCK lately with small issues. I need to break away from those worries.
Some days I have big plans for accomplishments and yet they don’t happen. One day at a time, because something wonderful
may be happening the background.
Valerie Albarda says
You bring up a really good point, Beth. We may not know what’s going on in the background. Something wonderful could be about to unfold. Thanks for kicking off the conversation.
Rebecca Forstadt Olkowski says
That’s great advice. Because if you think that way, it is sure to happen.
Valerie Albarda says
Isn’t that the truth, Rebecca!
