It’s May, and you know that means: blooming flowers, pollen and warmer temperatures. The month of May also ushers in one of our most beloved holidays, Mother’s Day. It’s the day we show appreciation to Mom for the wonderful woman she is and all that she has done for us throughout our lives.
As a stepmother who has lost her Mom, here at Midlife-A-Go-Go I admire and respect Moms, especially those who are undervalued, underappreciated and overlooked.
This coming Mother’s Day, why not gift Mom with the perfect little something to brighten her day. Midlife-A-Go-Go’s Mother’s Day Gift Guide has a few suggestions to make her day feel even more special.
They’re dainty, they’re delicate, they’re gorgeous. Imagine these sterling silver flower teardrop earrings dangling from the earlobes of that special someone in your life. By the way, those are real dried flowers preserved in resin inside that teardrop design. Pretty special, heh? Feminine and unique; just the thing to please the moms, stepmoms, mothers-in-law, and more in your life.
Many women like to dress up on occasion (some more than others) and look stunning as she steps out confidently. Then there are those times when they want to look casually sporty, adding a touch of flair to an otherwise bland outfit. A beautiful scarf is good for nearly any occasion. And when she wraps this Calvin Klein floral chiffon scarf around her neck, all eyes will be on her.
These cork backed ceramic stone coasters would make a lovely addition to any Mom’s bar collection. Sturdy and resilient, the enchanting mandala-themed coasters comes in six different patterns that, allegedly, will never fade. No more water rings on Mom’s wooden table! It’s a win-win.

Flowers help to bring the outdoors inside. This diminutive vase — a caterpillar bud vase — consists of six bulbs linked together. The vases can be filled with the same flowers or she get creative and mix it up with adifferent flower in each vase. Oh yeah, she’ll love this.
She has lived a wonderful, storied life, and she’s not done yet. Help her capture the memories of her journey with this lovely journal, My Life Story — So Far. This cloth bound journal is filled with prompts to spark memories and has nine different sections, including “Early Years,” “Family Roots,” and “Significant Events & People.” It’s a road map that will lead her from the beginning to now…and beyond. Everyone has a story to tell; watch her cut loose and allow the words to flow unfettered. The journal could be the start to a fascinating memoir in the making.
Gold, Silver and Everything In Between

Picture it: a sunken bathtub filled with aromatic bubbles, soft music playing, soft lighting, a few candles, a titillating book and her favorite adult beverage. But wait . . . something’s missing. She can’t balance all of that on her knees. Or can she? I can’t think of a single woman I know who wouldn’t want to luxuriate in a warm tub with all of the aforementioned accoutrements, For Mother’s Day, gift her with a bamboo bathtub caddy. She can while away her time without getting everything wet.
As a lover of the written word and someone who enjoys the art of writing, I’m somewhat dismayed at how my handwriting has digressed over the past few decades into something that resembles the scrawlings of a wayward chicken (thanks, for playing a major role in this, computers). Perhaps the Mom in your life has pretty, flowery handwriting. Or maybe you just want to preserve a special sentiment that’s written in her own hand. This stylish handwriting bracelet is customized and made-to-order using her actual script. It makes a wonderful keepsake, and is something that will be cherished for many years to come.

Lost and Found midlife mother’s day
We’ve all down it: misplaced our keys. We turn the house upside down, check in the dumbest places (like the freezer, inside the dog’s crate or under the car) and search every nook and cranny, but it’s always the last place you think to look. [Coincidentally, it typically would be the last place you’d look since you generally won’t keep looking for something once you’ve found it! :)] For Moms who lose things, enter the Tile Pro Style smart tracker. With Bluetooth technology, Mom can attach it to her keys, cell phone, etc., and the Tile tracker can find them.
It’s Wine Time midlife mother’s day
Wine. There really isn’t much more to say. No, wait . . . it’s a subscription box. A subscription box of wine that contains two bottles (red, white, mixed or sweet). Ooooh. But wait . . . there’s more. Each VineOh box is valued at $160 and comes with 5-6 full size surprise products. Mom’ll love it! Give a one-time box, or treat her to a 2-quarterly box. Take a look at this. Looks like a paint roller, doesn’t it? You might be asking yourself, “What is this mystery apparatus?” It’s called a face roller, it’s crafted from jade, and it has been used by Chinese society since the 17th century. So what does it do? It massages the face and is used to increase circulation in the skin, which helps to reduce puffiness and redness. Perhaps Mom will appreciate this little gadget. Hint: She can keep her jade roller in the refrigerator to refresh the face when she uses it.
