She’s in there, and she’s raring to get out. She’s been cooped up for far too long. It’s time to let freedom reign.
That ‘she’ is your inner rebel. If she’s anything like mine, she’s disrupting your thoughts, whispering sweet nothings seductively in your ear and urging you to get a little wild. “Go on, swim topless in the ocean,” she’ll say, “no one’s looking”.
Like a petulant teen, she coos, “They can’t tell you what to do,” as she stirs up your rebellious energy.
We all have an inner rebel — the key is a) knowing when to unleash her, and b) giving her as little or as much freedom as you want. Is it time you let your inner rebel loose?
Lucky you . . . you’re a midlife woman; as your inner rebel insists, nobody can tell you what to do!
One of the advantages of aging is listening/living to your own song!
If you could hear the songs in my head, Haralee…. 🙂
Love the photo. Love your thoughts. Yes, there’s still some rebel left in me. And when I’m really crazed I get on Twitter and shout!!
Hahaha! But Beth, shouting is SO cathartic! I engage in that from time to time…I actually do it in my closet. It works wonders!
I’m one year from 50 but still have 3 school-aged kids at home. I’ll rediscover that inner revel at some point!
Look forward to that day, Julie. It’s like anticipating thaat first bite of your favorite dessert. 😁
I’ve been letting her out for a while now and people are still reeling! 😉
Hahaha! Well, people are just gonna have to get used to that! Go Corrine!
