Meet Olivia Cossio
Olivia was diagnosed with Relapsing-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis. This is her story.
On living with MS . . .
“I was just 24 years old when my little baby was born in September 2017. That happiness ended when, just three months later, I was diagnosed with MS in January 2018. They just gave me the diagnosis and, as a doctor, all the worst came to my mind. I couldn’t complete all of my residency and all the years of study came down. But as a mom, strength soon came to me and I began the treatment to enjoy life with my girl, and that is what I keep doing daily!”
What Olivia wants you to know about MS . . .
“All feelings are valid, just express them correctly.”
Despite having MS . . .
“I still play like a toddler with my girl.”

Following her diagnosis in 2018, just three months after the birth of her daughter, Olivia could have given up and given in. She didn’t. She went on to become a medical neural therapist. I don’t know Olivia personally, but it’s evident that her daughter is her life. And even as she battles RRMS, she still plays with her daughter . . . as a loving mother does.
Thank you for moving forward, Olivia, and showing the world that many of the limits we experience are those we set ourselves. You rose to the occasion.
