Meet Thomas
Thomas was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. This is his story.
On living with MS . . .
“Life is different of course. The life you thought you would have has simply disappeared. For me especially. With my condition I am mostly bedridden. I can sit up for about twenty minutes at a time, so with that my life will never be the same.”
What Thomas wants you to know about MS . . .
“When people think of MS, they think of the mobility issues. They think of the worst case scenarios. In truth, that’s not the case. Sure, those can happen, but not with everyone. It is not a death sentence either. People can still lead a very positive and rewarding life.”
Despite having MS . . .
“I can still write books, I can write inspirational stories for websites, I can dream and have hope.”
Thomas and I are both part of the same Facebook MS community page. He is one of the most positive, encouraging individuals I’ve met since my diagnosis. He never fails to give words of encouragement to new group members, and shows his compassionate side every chance he gets.
Thank you being a bright light in the community, Thomas.
